Esperanza Venezuela

I'd do anything for my most inspirational friend, Carolina. She's a relentless, peaceful, no-bullshit-zero-waste warrior, and I adore her. She asked me if I wanted to design the cover for a book that would commemorate seven-plus years of incredible, hard work, and I said yes, please.

The high quality of the photography that captures the mothers' deep stares and even deeper wounds made it challenging and a bit intimidating for me to find the correct combination of shapes, colors, and textures that would adequately honor and strengthen them. I had to try out many different versions until I found peace with this one.

Portrait of Dayana by Roberto Mata

To honor and hold the untired eyes of a woman who has seen it all.

Portrait of Omeira by Alejandro Sayegh

Dressed in gemstone and terrain, she brings forth rawness, beauty and strength.
