XVIII THE MOON

The undulations of lunar waters mirror & meld the light & shadow within.

— Innate wisdom; Depth of Depths; Inner-Journey; Transformative waters; Subconscious realms; To Protecting our energy; Exercising emotional intelligence; Feelings we can't name; Healthy boundaries.

— Emotional overwhelm; Anxiety; Confusion; Psychic flooding; Loss of emotional boundaries; Rumination; Mental fog; Somatic tension headaches or nausea; Avoidance through distraction; Disconnection from intuition; Suppressed emotions resurfacing.

Under the Moon card, we expand our understanding of our inner realm in all directions: soaking up her wisdom, letting the ripples of water reach our surface. It’s a tender time under the Moon and above the waters that flow. She asks to be felt. She teaches us to shine indirectly by reflecting another’s light, as she does for the Sun.

The waters are in motion, but the moon retains its serenity.”
— D.T. Suzuki

We can open the doors to our deepest vulnerabilities and find a home there.

Oscillating between contradictions, with our emotional reality in conflict, we learn to work in waves. The intensity varies, and she never really shows up the same way twice. We’re learning to soothe the inner waters back to a tranquil sea.

The Moon’s glare brings out the shadows of our secrets, those hiding in the darkest places. We’re searching for answers there, slowly learning acceptance and closure, reworking old set patterns, and emerging anew with healthy boundaries in place that protect our energy.
